Annotation Smackdown

Academic Technologies recently partnered with Kathryn Dimiduk, Director of the¬†James McCormick Family Teaching Excellence Institute in the College of Engineering, to host the “Annotation Smackdown” event where faculty and IT service providers were invited to try out various classroom annotation devices and provide their feedback on each. The equipment and software included:

  • InFocus Mondopad
  • NEC MultiSync touch screen monitor with overlay
  • Samsung touch screen monitor
  • Wacom Cintiq Pen Display
  • SMART Podium interactive pen display
  • Epson Brightlink interactive projector
  • Elmo document camera
  • Ink2Go software
While each contestant had its supporters, attendees found that specific technologies were well-suited to particular circumstances. Anyone who is interested in specific recommendations may contact Academic Technologies at for more information.
